Franklin... you're a wonderful, sweet, loving little puppy and you deserve a home thats going to love you and give you everything you deserve. And I think we found just that home! Franklin is leaving us to go live in Bridgewater with a wonderful family! He will also have a dog playmate and 2 cats to chase around. :) I couldnt have asked for a better 1st foster dog. He was awesome, and I wish him and his new family nothing but the best! Oh... I do wish for lots of updates though. :) We love you Franklin!

Franklin says...Im ready for a home :)

Franklin is a little snuggler. Perfectly happy on your lap (or shoulder) or just laying next to you. I didnt think this would be his personality when we 1st got him, but he's really just a little cuddler.

He also likes cat beds.....

I think Bodhi was over sharing at this point.....

But then he heard the word "treat" and that got his attention. :)

Franklin is always good if there is a treat involved. He is HIGHLY food motivated. Which is good, because it makes training him that much easier.

What a life...

Bodhi reluctantly made room on the beanbag for Franklin. He's such a good, big foster brother!

Hey it's Franklin

What can I say? Franklin is going to make some family very happy. He's doing great, eating well, sleeping great at night, playing with Bodhi like a good boy. :) Last night he went into his crate, no whining at all! yay.

He pretty much knows to sit know when he wants a treat. If I can't find him, all I have to do is walk over to the kitchen and there he is sitting on the floor staring up at the treat jar. lol. He's pretty funny.

This is what it's all about....

Frankie is doing great! He is really starting to come out of his shell. He was a little nervous at 1st, which is understandable considering all the changes he has been through in the past weeks.

He's a little snuggler in the morning. Today after he woke up and did potty, he snuggled in my arms and gave me kisses. That was the 1st time since picking him up. He also curled up on my daughters lap and just let her hold him for a while which was too cute. When he's in the mood to play, he goes full force. But, when he's in the mood to relax...he's perfectly content being held or sleeping on your lap.
He's been doing great with potty training. Last night he went from 10pm-5am in his crate, he did his business on the puppy pad and then went back to sleep until about 645am. I've been working with him to sit when he gets a treat and he's really getting the hang of it. As soon as we come in from potty he runs right over and sits on the rug waiting for a treat. This boy can eat!!!
He's just a really sweet boy that deserves a loving family. It doesnt seem like he has had that, and it makes me sad for him. It will be hard letting him go, but it will be wonderful to know he is going someplace that he will be loved and cared for. For the right family...he is going to make a perfect pet!

Franklin Day #2

So we made it through our 1st night with little Franklin and he did great!  I don't know if he was used to crates before arriving here- but he slept like a champ after a few seconds of whining.  :)  I did wake up around 2am and brought him to his puppy pad where he did his business and went back to bed.  He's been doing pretty good as far as housebreaking.  He has gone outside quite a few times, which is great considering all the snow thats on the ground!  Inside he has gone on his puppy pad and had only one accident today.  I've been feeding him chicken and white rice and he eats it all up.  We've also been working on sitting for a treat and he's already starting to get the hang of it.  He is just really sweet and smart.  He's a little feisty, and does have a lot of energy.  He got a little nippy this morning with my daughter and for that reason I think he would do best in a home with kids over 5.  He's just a typical puppy and needs to be taught the way to act like a proper Boston Terrier.

Franklin has arrived

So I made the 2 hour drive down to CT today to pick up Franklin. He was very good on the ride home and pretty much slept the whole way. Of course when we got here the kids and Bodhi were very excited to meet him! We let him do a little exploring but he's mostly been gated off to give him some time to get used to things. He is a very sweet boy, and really wants some attention. I have a feeling he hasnt had too much. Here are some pics from today:

Our 1st foster....

On Sunday I will be picking up our 1st foster, a 12 week old Boston Terrier named Franklin. He's coming from MO where he was surrended by his owners, due to aggression from their older BT. He was bit by the dog, and has a small scar. Poor Boy.
I've been busy getting some stuff together for him- I picked up a superyard babygate, crate, some toys (that Bodhi - our BT ) is obsessed with stealing, and some chicken & white rice. I'm definitely a little nervous, but I can't wait for him to get here. I will update his blog with pics and info once we get him...in the meantime here is a pic and his petfinder description:

"Pure Boston Terrier male puppy. 3 months old on 1/23/09Up to date on shots and worming for age. Participation in FOA neuter program. Ground transport if needed is included.Darling little pure Boston pup - great addition to any family. He is not the best bred Boston in the world, but he is the sweetest."
